Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day

Hey, did you notice the "little professionals" who came to work with their parents on April 26th?

It was because professionals across the country on the fourth Thursday in April every year celebrate "Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day. " A day that is all about inspiring the future!

According to the National Women's History Museum, this event was inspired by an article in Parade Magazine and became a national event in 1993 starting in New York City! It was originally known as Take Our Daughters to Work Day, and in 2003 it was officially changed to Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Children of employees from several departments visited HABC to learn what their parents do at work!

We were able to catch up with a couple of the kids who spent some time at our agency. Khalil, 13, was able to connect what he learns at school with the working world. He is interested in being a baseball player or zoologist. Sonia, 6, really enjoyed lunch and aspires to be a veterinarian.
