Message from Executive Director Janet Abrahams

In the five months that I have been in Baltimore, we have made tremendous progress in the way that we operate and serve HABC residents and Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) participants.

One major accomplishment is that we recently unveiled HABC’s new mission, vision and goals, which clearly defines HABC’s purpose. Over the past several months, HABC staff and I have been working tirelessly towards fulfilling the Four Cs of HABC - Communication, Community, Customer Service, and Collaboration. The launch of the “Door to Door” newsletter is just one example of how we are collaborating to improve our communications, community, and customer service - to receive future newsletter issues, CLICK HERE. In addition to the newsletter, we recently launched the HEAL (Healthy Elimination of All-pests Long-term) campaign and partnered with KaBoom! to build new playgrounds at McCulloh Homes and Douglass Homes.

These stories are highlighted in this inaugural e-newsletter. As you read them, you’ll notice a common theme – the Four Cs of HABC!

I also want to share that HABC is proposing changes to the Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP) and form of Dwelling Lease, and proposing a Smoke-Free Policy. Draft copies of these documents are now available for review and comment. To review these documents, please CLICK HERE. The deadline to submit all comments is January 13, 2018.

I wish you and yours a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year!

Yours truly,

Janet Abrahams

Executive Director
